Training Programmes

Two original schemes led by professional musicians intended for students coming from musical institutions and young singers.

Investing in Young Talent

Along with the Sessions d’orchestre, the pre-concert events allow young musicians from the partner institutions to perform in the main auditorium of the Philharmonie de Paris.
These 40-minute chamber music recitals with programmes based on those of the evening concerts begin at 6 pm and are free of charge. Nine pre-concert events are scheduled over the course of the Orchestre de Paris’ 2015/2016 Season.

The pre-concert events are free concerts lasting approximately 40 minutes given at 6 pm at the Philharmonie de Paris as an introduction to the evening’s main concert by the Orchestre de Paris. They are an excellent opportunity for the best instrument players from the partner music schools to perform as a chamber ensemble in a prestigious concert venue.

The Orchestra

Work experience unlike any other

Created in 2003, the Orchestre de Paris Academy offers students from the Conservatoire supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris and the Pôle supérieur d’enseignement artistique de Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt the opportunity to undertake work experience. Between eight and eighteen young musicians at a highly advanced level take part in three or four concert series each season with the Orchestre de Paris under the baton of internationally renowned conductors.
The students, all string players, are selected by audition and mentored by musicians from the Orchestre de Paris. Along with the pre-concert events, these orchestra sessions form the twofold activities of the Orchestre de Paris Academy.

The Choir

For 18-24 year olds

Created in September 2012, in partnership with three conservatoires from the City of Paris, The Academy aims to attract singers from 18-24 years of age, coming from the best children's choirs and singing classes of the conservatoires. The Academy is developing a wide repertory, ranging from early music to contemporary music, parallel to its participation in the symphonic programmes of the Orchestre de Paris Choir. Furthermore, The Academy has its own season of concerts, notably as part of the pre-concert events of the Orchestre de Paris.
